About Us

The Yorkshire Tile Company is an independent, family-run operation with more than 60 years of history and experience.

Established in Sheffield, England in 1974, the business has been a family affair since the current CEO Stefan Firth, joined the company in 1977. Stefan worked his way up from the warehouse to the boardroom and over the last five decades, several members of his family have also joined the business.

Today, the Yorkshire Tile Company remains a family-run business and we currently employ more than 30 people, based at three stores across the North of England. We’re proud that a number of them have been with us for more than three decades and on average, our experienced senior sales team members have been at the company for 15 years

We source tiles from suppliers in the UK and a number of European countries, including Italy and Spain, to ensure our customers have a wide variety of tiles to choose from. Our buying team regularly travel around the world to visit suppliers and trade shows, so you can be sure we’re offering the latest trends, styles and designs.

We also sell everything tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts need including grouts and adhesives, tile trims, under-tile heating, backer boards and accessories.

And we don’t just do tiles – we also sell a wide range of bathroom suites, furniture and accessories to suit most budgets and tastes. We offer everything from complete suites to individual bespoke designs using top suppliers like Villeroy and Boch.

Being green has never been more important and we’re proud of the work we’re doing to reduce our impact on the environment.At our factories and warehouses, we’re re-using wooden pallets, as well as purchasing and repairing second hand ones. In our offices, we’re reducing our carbon footprint by supporting paperless billing where possible, using flat screen monitors, and recycling paper, ink cartridges and packaging.We use suppliers who are taking positive action to reduce their impact on the environment. This includes recycling ceramic waste, re-using water, using kilns more efficiently to save energy, and using recycled materials for the majority of their packaging. We’re also backing our suppliers’ environmental schemes by stocking tiles manufactured from recycled materials.
