5 ways to update your kitchen without renovating

The kitchen is usually the most used room in a house and is described as the heart of the home. It should be a space that you love. If renovating is out of the question, there are lots of things you can do to give you a kitchen you want to spend your time in.

My name is Charlotte and I run the Instagram account @wiltshirewonderland I have recently given my kitchen a makeover and wanted to share some of my favourite ways to refresh your kitchen.

1. New tiles

Tile have come along way over the last few years. Fresh tiles can completely transform the look of your kitchen. Play around with shapes and colours for a fresh new look.

Here are just a few of my favourites:

Archer - naturally this would have to be one of my picks as these are the tiles in my recently rennovated kitchen. I love the unusual shape and how you can blend the colours together.

Cabrera - If you're looking for a patterned tile you can't go wrong with Cabrera. I love the Moorish style that is contemporary yet timeless and the variety of patterns and tones available in this collection.

Abode - As I love the pink and green colour combination it'll come as no surprise that Abode is one of my picks too. The tile may look simple but the fact that you can tile it in so many ways gives it real Instaworthy appeal.

2. Paint the fridge

Did you know you can paint your fridge?  While your appliance might last for years and years, tastes change. It isn’t practical to get rid of a refrigerator just because you don’t like the way it looks so why don’t you give it a coat of all surface paint, spray paint the handles and give it a new lease of life.

3. Change the hardware

Its super quick and easy to swap out your old hardware for something fresh and new. Look for a brass option in a sleek, modern shape. This will instantly update your kitchen, but it won't cost a fortune. I love Pushka Home.

4. Paint the cabinets

Painting the cabinets is a really affordable way to update to change the look and feel of your kitchen. Ok so it might seem like a lot of work but its definitely worth it. Whatever colour you go for will completely transform the room. Ellie transformed her entire kitchen with paint.

5. Open shelves

Do you have an open space in your kitchen or perhaps some over head cupboards that you don’t need? Open shelves are a modern and stylish addition to a kitchen. Use them to display storage jars, dinner ware or decorative items. Louise knows how to style her shelves to make the most of the space.
