Spring has officially sprung which means it’s time for that all important clean and interiors update but we all know how overwhelming this can feel, especially when you’ve got barely any time to spare – thankfully we’ve taken away the hard work for you by compiling a list of our favourite ways to prepare your home for the new season.

Wash the windows

It may sound like basic advice but it’s surprising how much of a difference cleaning your windows can make, even Kevin McCloud Grand Designs host thinks so. Whether you decide to get a window cleaner round or tackle the job yourself, we recommend the Karcher window cleaning tools we’ve no doubt you’ll be shocked at just how dirty your windows have become over Winter. Spring is all about feeling light and bright so whether you’ve got large windows or small Cottage sized ones you want to maximise your natural lighting situation as much as possible. Declutter and reevaluate

Whenever I think of Spring I immediately think clean, if you’re bit of a hoarder like me the idea of a Spring clean can feel incredibly daunting so I’d suggest taking one room at a time and really evaluating each area separately. Do you love absolutely everything on your shelving unit? Do you use all the items in your bathroom cabinet? Do you open your wardrobe and feel excited about the clothes inside? If the answer to many of these questions is no then it’s time to declutter. As Marie Kondo, the guru of minimal living suggests if an item doesn’t bring joy then it’s time to let it go and there’s no better feeling than giving items to charity or to friends and family, we promise. Add pink

Rose quartz may have been the Pantone of the year in 2016 but the colour shows no say of waning in 2017 – once seen as a shade reserved for ballet slippers and nurseries the blossom coloured hue is fast becoming one of our favourite accent shades. While the idea of adding pink to your pad might be daunting you can trust us when we say it’s a game changer – start small with cushions or throws, a great way to add a hint of colour in your home or even with a bunch of flowers. Feeling brave? Paint your freestanding bath pink or splurge on that rose coloured sofa.

Go for greenery

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, bringing the outside in is one incredibly easy way to make your home feel fresh and revitalised – exactly how you want your abode to feel when Spring comes to town. Greenery is in fact the Pantone of 2017 so while we’re all about creating timeless interiors it’s nice to feel on trend too. Succulents, cheese plants and cactus plants are all year favourites of ours for when you’re thinking about bringing the living in but green tinted tiles work just as well too. Tile shown: Malacassa

Tinker with tiles

If you’re anything like us Spring is the time when you suddenly get the urge to start all those projects you’ve been putting off over the Winter months. Tiles can make a dramatic change to any living space and don’t have to cost the earth either. We’ve seen our tiles transform fireplaces, downstairs toilets, kitchen splash backs and larger projects such as bathrooms and living/dining floors – the possibilities are truly endless. View our extensive range of tiles here or come and see us in store where we can discuss your individual requirements. Tiles shown: Artisan, Fusion White, Lava
