Posted: 7th August 2008

The Jeremy Kyle show has been asking local and national companies to donate materials towards a proposed £70,000 renovation project of a community centre based in Benchill.

YTC were more than happy to donate wall tiles and adhesive to help renovate the kitchen area within the community centre.

The 'Makeover challenge' was filmed as a special edition of the show and will be aired on ITV later this year.

The UEW (United Estates of Wythenshawe) centre in Benchill was give a five day renovation before being unveiled in front of hundreds of local residents in June 2008. The centre was in desperate need of a refurbishment and now contains a new kitchen, cafe, dance studio, garden and outdoor play area.

The UEW centre is run by local residents to offer a venue for young people in the area to learn and socialise. The renovation has received huge publicity locally and nationally and praise has gone out to the companies and local residents that helped make the renovation happen.
