The Dronfield 10K - March 2005

A bitterly cold day was not enough to stop nearly 500 runners from participating in the annual fund raising event - the Dronfield 10k - sponsored this year by the Yorkshire Tile Company.

The event attracted both affiliated runners looking to improve on their own personal times, in addition to those just looking to enter for fun.

We were there to start the race, hand out medals at the finish line, and present the awards to the category winners after the race. We were also happy to offer promotions to all entrants and spectators on the day.

The first runner to make it past the finish line was Pumlani Bangani after 32 mins 53 secs - narrowly missing out on breaking the current record!

The Dronfield 10K was started moments before the fun run - the fun run is a shorter, separate run aimed at young children and those that feel the 10K was a little out of their league!

All proceeds raised on the day will be used to support and fund the 7th Dronfield Scout group.
