YTC Raise £1000 for Rowan School - Sept 2006
Staff and customers from the YTC raised over £1000 for the Rowan
School (for Autistic children) by attending a special Sky Sports charity
dinner on 21st September 2006.
The charity dinner, held in Rotherham, included guest speakers from
the popular Sky Sports channel including Matt Le Tissier and Peter Reid.
About the Rowan School
The Rowan School is a special needs primary school built in 1976.
Based in Sheffield, they provide education for children with moderate
and severe learning & communication difficulties.
Unfortunately, not all of the specialist equipment and technology
needed to help educate children with learning difficulties can be funded
by the LEA. Therefore, the Rowan School depend on fund raising events to
help raise money to fund such purchases.
This year, high up on the Rowan School's wish list were;
drainage to the playing field, refurbishment of the food technology
area, provision of a safe fenced sensory play area for infant children,
and the provision of air conditioning/heating within the school
building.
